The Rose Community
Gather with us around the spiritual hearth of The Rose Way. Rooted at Rose Castle with deepening relationships around the world, our Rose Community invites you on a journey of reconciler formation.
We respond to your invitation, O God.
As we are, we come.
We offer to you the hostilities that shape us, the hostilities we carry, the hostilities that carry us.
In these matters, move us from hostility to hospitality.
Be our guard, for we guard ourselves too much.
Be our protector, that we need not overprotect ourselves.
Create in us a space, a room, a place—
free and friendly space where the stranger may be welcomed—
that we may be at home in our own house—
that we may be healed of hurts we carry in the soul—
that we may know brother and sisterhood—
that we may know kindness—
that we may laugh easily—
that we may know beauty.
Nudge, guide, entice, prod. Move us to live within your will.
To the end that within this flesh, within this house in which we live,
we may be at home with you, our neighbor, with ourselves.
Thus we pray, remembering Christ who says,
"I stand at the door and knock."
Create in us a place of hospitality.
Amen.

Let's Grow Together
The Rose Community is Rose Castle Foundation's original community of practice, joining the faith-led movement of people who feel compelled to grow deeper in relationship with God, with one another, and with all that is natural.
Following 30+ years of working in the field of reconciliation, and 10 years articulating our learning through The Rose Way, we are now embedding our core pedagogy into the daily contexts of community and personal life, developing living resources to support your journey towards reconciliation.
If you are seeking deeper relationship with God, creation and community in a world that feels full of division and competition, then we'd love to journey with you.
Sign up here to receive specific Rose Community updates and join the community yourself. Meanwhile, if you're looking to get stuck into a practical resource straight away then a great place to start is our 12 Habits of a Reconciler e-booklet.
Sign up to share your interest and support!
We'll soon be sharing new resources, from prayers to community practices to reflective articles, that are speaking to us as we seek to live out the values of reconciliation in our everyday contexts. Sign up to stay updated and tell us more about your journey:
About
The Rose Community is the original community of practice of Rose Castle Foundation’s global network. Grown from the founding community of Rose Castle Foundation, our purpose is to live out the local contextualisation of the Foundation’s international work - which has since been articulated through The Rose Way - and to invest in the vital role of community formation and lived practice that is necessary for the sustainability of any reconciliation ministry.
Given Rose Castle’s tumultuous history in relation to both its Christian and agricultural identities and contexts, the Rose Community has a particular focus on ecumenical and ecological reconciliation but is equally enriched by hosting Rose Castle Foundation’s international and interfaith network through programmes and events. The Rose Community is rooted in rhythms of prayer and hospitality, growing (in relationship with its members and increasingly through local partnerships) spaces for spiritual, emotional and psychological restoration. The Rose Community is growing on the Rose Castle Estate and works in partnership with the estate's vision for relational hospitality and heritage-led regeneration.
Future Ambitions
Current ambitions for the future include:
- A regular rhythm of prayer and reflection for local and international community members, rooted in The Rose Way
- A library of resources to support you and your community in embedding habits of reconciliation in your daily lives
- Regenerative community projects across the Rose Castle Estate
- An ecosystem of local and international partnerships who model locally rooted reconciliation initiatives
- A growing network of rooted communities of practices who testify to the abundantly diverse landscape of reconciliation, encouraging one another in their local distinctiveness while growing together as a united global community!
Rose Community resources are built upon and feed back in to the core pedagogy of The Rose Way, which is most intensely experienced through our core Rose Castle Foundation residential programmes. We typically run these programmes in collaboration with long-term partners, but many of our resources will increasingly be made available for you to engage with and share on a personal and community level.
